Project Goal

One of my first projects, created while I was still in school, remains a source of pride for me to this day and I plan to remake it once I reach ten years of experience. As a proud member of the Panamanian community, I drew inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of the Kuna tribe and their traditional textile art. The Kuna are renowned for their Molas—handcrafted layers of colored fabric that form vibrant and intricate designs found on clothing and blankets, showcasing their extraordinary artistic talent. Motivated by this cultural pride and my passion for design, I set out to capture the essence of my heritage in my own work. I created a collection of unique, personalized animal art textiles, inspired by memories of a large bird Mola that hung on my wall as a child. Each piece begins as a sketch and comes to life through careful attention to detail and a love for design, reflecting both my creative journey and my connection to my roots.
